TIFF - PC or Mac byte order?
When you save a TIFF in Photoshop you can chose between PC or Mac byte order. When scanning in Silverfast and using 'Normal [File]' (where Silverfast saves a fiile rather than opening it in Photoshop), how is the TIFF saved, PC or Mac order? And is any LZW compression used?

Byte order is there for historic reasons. It doesn't matter which you choose; that is unless you are also using Tiff compatible apps from the dark ages. If compression was used you would know about it - the final file size as stored in your HD would be smaller than the size you'd expect for that size of scan. Furthermore, choosing JPEG causes SilverFast to activate an Option button so that we can decide the level of compression to be used. Choosing Tiff leaves the button deactivated, so I would take this a clue that SilveRfast does NOT compress tiff files.

I'm supplying a client who wants TIFFs in PC byte order, so PC byte order its going to be! They just want everything to be 100% compatible (including 8 point 3 filenames for example).
