Sound notification after a successful scan

Postby RainerHillebrand » Sun May 02, 2010 2:35 pm

Dear LaserSoft Team,

A successful scan with SilverFast Ai Studio could take some minutes before I can switch to the next image. In the meantime I could drink a coffee or use another application. However, I miss a sound notification that tells me that the scan was completed. What would you think about this optional feature in SilverFast?

Yours sincerely,

Rainer

Dear Rainer,

we do already have this option but it is originally intended for batch scanning so you would need to set SilverFast to batch scan, but only use one frame.
When starting the Scan SilverFast will ask you if a sound should be played at the end of the scan. I think this is what you are searching for.
best regards,

I'm not seeing the option to enable the sound notification after a batch scan. I'm using Silver Fast 8 Ai Studio on Mac 10.6.8, just so you know I can't update any higher on this computer.
i'm scanning on the highest settings of my scanner. it takes roughly 20 mins per scan because i'm doing 64bit HDRi files. i would like a countdown timer or some kind of notification when it's done.
thanks

Dear customer,

This is an older thread that refers to a previous version of SilverFast.
In the current SilverFast 8 you can find this option in the Preferences' Special Tab.
There you can select the finish sound.

Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

What format do these sound files need to be in? I am using 8.8 on Apple macOS Sierra (10.12.2). Whenever I go to select a Apple sound file it shows it as being "greyed" out.

I'm having the same problem. MP3 files are greyed out. WAV files as well...

Dear user,

Have you checked if the access rights for the files are set correctly.

Kind regards,

Hello — I can confirm that this happens to me as well on Mac OS X. Full file perms, Silverfast Version: 8.8.0r10

I had to convert my sound from MP3 to WAV.
