Silverfast tools on Phototshop `scripts' menu

Postby Harry Putnam » Sat May 06, 2006 1:21 pm

I once had access to both SF 6AI and DC Pro inside photoshop under the
File/scripts menu.

That has disappeared... I think from a reinstall of photshop going from PSCS to PSCS2.

How can I get that setup back? What needs to be put into the photoshop file structure so that those appear inside PS?

you should be able to install SF to CS2 and then unlock it from demo mode the same way you did for CS

DO you mean back up to whatever version is available for download, reinstall then unlock and update? With both AI and DC pro in my case.

Sounds like unnecessary work there. Isn't there some file or files that can be moved to the Photoshop CS2 directory structure that will get the job done without full reinstalls, reupdating etc?

I'd much prefer to leave my installs alone as updated. And just make whatever file movements a reinstall does, by hand.

Anyone here know what actually happens to make AI or DC pro available on Photoshop File/Scripts menu?
Surely this can be accomplished without having to reinstall and mess with updates and the like?

What I found on my system is that SilverFast added the following Windows shortcut: "C:\Program Files\LaserSoft\SilverFast Epson\SilverFast (Epson).8ba" in the "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS2\Plug-Ins\Import-Export" folder.

I believe you may either add shortcuts to the two .8ba files, or place copies of them in the Import-Export folder to regain access.

Yup, that was it and I see I made a mistake in my post about where to look for this stuff. I was talking about File/scripts and it is File/import

Creating those short cuts did the trick. And now I found there was an upgrade to DCpro so installed it and that process installed a short cut there.

Thanks.
