SilverFast Preview vs Photoshop

Postby mgilvey » Fri Dec 03, 2004 5:19 am

Why is my preview in SilverFast different from the final scan after I open it in Photoshop?

Here is a sample of what I mean:

Click the download for SF vs PS

What I would like is the photoshop version to look more like the SilverFast preview. I know I did not staturate the colors as much as photoshop is displaying and it was sharper. I did us the scratch removal but I don't remember it looking this blurry.

Any UnSharp Mask on in SF ? Low Resolution preview ? Are you using an IT8 calibration profile and applying ? Converting color spaces ? Looks like a saturation boost or a range compression at the very least.

BTW, looks like you have a row of dead pixels in the top quarter. WHat was this a scan of - slide, neg ? What scanner ?
