Silverfast AI6 Firewire requires restart

I have updated to the latest build of Silverfast AI6 for my Polaroid 4000+ scanner; v6.0.1r42 on my MacG4 with OSX10.2.4.

Suddenly the system cannot find the scanner without turning it on and restarting.

Most firewire devices show up without having to restart (unlike SCSI). Indeed this is the way Silverfast worked until this rev. It is a major pain to restart the system everytime I want to use the scanner.

SilverFast could only handle the scanner, if it is regonized by the system. If you system don't regonize it with out a reboot, there is nothing we can do.
Did you try to dis/reconnect the scanner after you have switched it on ?
