In February, I bought the AI update version 6 for my Kodak scanner. Today, I received my new scanner, an Epson 3200. The Kodak is being sold on Ebay. I received the Silverfast SE version with the Epson. Having just paid $65 for the AI upgrade, I hate to not be able to use the AI version with the new scanner. Is this the case?
Thanks,
Sherie

unfortunately this is the case, SilverFast is tailored to the hardware it is using. You should sell that SilverFast Kodak copy on ebay, too.
Nevertheless, I recommend to contact sales@silverfast.de and try to get a fair upgrade offer from them, explaining your situation.

Hi,
I done so in two similar cases, but there were none such thing as a fair
upgrade offer just a standard offer.
I do not expect to get SW for free, but if I already have now the third
version purcase for a new scanner I'm not willing to pay for new
HW the full price again (- multiversion rebate).
I think it would be fair to value the AI versions for an upgrade. But as
I said I did only get standard offers...
