Silverfast Ai v 6.4.4r7 and Windows 10

I am about the install a new computer running Windows 10. I currently have Silverfast Ai 6.4.4r7 with a Minolta Scan Elite 5400 running under Windows Vista.

A question - Do I need to get a newer version of Silverfast and if so which version? or can I run my existing software with Windows 10?

Windows 10 would require SilverFast 8 however the Minolta 5400 unfortunately is not supported under this operating system.
So unfortunately we can not offer a solution for Windows 10 and your scanner.

Dear Sir,
I have just bought HP Scanjet 8300 device bundled with SilverFast Ai v.6.6. I use OS Windows 10 64 bit version.
Reading these posts I come to the conclusion that I will not be able to properly register SF Ai with Win10. Reding the list of supported scanners for v.8 I find no HP device listed. There is however an explanation that v.8 supports scanners with proper Win10 drivers. HP Scanjet 8300 has Win10 64 bit driver downloadable from the manufacturer website.

May I believe that SilverFast v.8 will work under OS Win 10 64 bit with HP Scanjet 8300?
If "yes" what are the options to get the new version? Do I have to pay for upgrade?
