Silverfast Ai update for Mac OS 10.2.1 & Epson 2450

I wrote a few weeks ago inquiring about the availability of an update to Silverfast Ai (5.5) for the Photoshop 7 Plugin in Mac OS 10.2 (now 10.2.1) and the Epson Perfection Scanner 2450. May I inquire if such an update is now available (or imminent) for Ai, and if so, what is the full version number. I am looking forward to again having the use of the excellent Silverfast software.

Dear Felix,

Unfortunately SilverFast 5.5 will not be updated to support Photoshop 7 or Jaguar. We've supported up to 9.2.2 and even 10.1 with 5.5, and we have completed its life cycle and moved on to version 6. Updating for Jaguar and Photoshop 7 required major revision to the source code, and the way SilverFast is installed.

Please consider upgrading to version 6 for continued support of SilverFast through Jaguar and Photoshop 7.

Dear Nick,

I wasn't clear enough in my question. I do intend to update to Ai 6. I am waiting for a version that supports Mac OS 10.2 with a Photoshop 7 plugin for the Epson 2450. As soon as the version is available, I'll update. My question really is, does Silverfast yet have a version of Ai 6 that corforms to my needs?

Dear Felix,

Ok, I'm with ya now! Yes the current version of SilverFast 6 (6.0.1r17 or higher) supports your scanner/software configuration. I suggest using it in Firewire mode however, there are some minor issues with some systems and USB that are found when connected via Firewire.
