SilverFast 6 with Epson 2450 and Sony DSC S70 & S707

Postby Jim S » Fri Sep 20, 2002 10:50 pm

Can I use the version with IT8 calibration to calibrate both my Sony cameras and the Epson scanner? I have just ordered the scanner and I believe that it comes with the SE edition. Can I order just the IT8 calibration targets to work with the SE edition? If this does not work with my Sony Cameras what do I need to purchase to have both the scanner and cameras calibrated? Thanks

SilverFast SE has no IT8-Calibration Option

SilverFast SE has no IT8-Calibration Option

SilverFast SE is designed as a low cost entry level version of SilverFast Ai. That is why it has no IT8-Calibration option, so the functionality does not overwhelm the entry level user nor does the version get too expensive.

You can upgrade your version to SilverFast Ai for the price difference to SF Ai only and then also buy the additional IT8-option.

Thanks for the reply. I will be ordering SilverFast Ai today with calibration targets this week. Do I need any additional SilverFast software to calibrate my Sony digital cameras DSC S70 and DSC S707? Thanks again.

Calibration for digital Cameras

Calibration for digital Cameras

In order to be able to calibrate devices that write files directly such as digital cameras, you would need SilverFast HDR with IT8 option. You can save the price for targets on this since you would have them with SilverFast Ai with IT8.
