silverfast 6.6 not working with leopard with 4490 Epson scan

I am having trouble with photoshop CS3 Mac - Ox leopard 10.5.6 and silverfast 6.6 01, Silverfast contantly freezes photoshop. I am scanning on 4490 Epson. scans turns into a black box, I have tried trashing prefs in photoshop to get silverfast working while this after the prefs trash has work for my on one or two occassions it if oviousl;y not right and ewill not do it all the time . Can anyone help or no what the trouble is?

how large become thefiles you are scanning ?

The files are around 394 .7M , and it often bring in a blank black scan where the image should be. Then Photoshop freezes, I can sometimes solve this problem to square one. by trashing photoshop pref to get photoshop back to normal, I have also tried trashing the prefs in silverfast and this has work on and off as well. I need to scan a high file with a large output of 83x83 cm. dpi- 360 -400. This is because I am printing out large prints on large format Epson printer 9600 .

please delete all SilverFast aliases in the Photoshop plugin directory and reinstall the SilverFast 6.6r5.

Have done what you asked and yes there were alisas in the applications folder. I still had trouble and installed the disc which is a download purchase. I have now no end of trouble as after reinstalling I find that the S?F laucher will not launch and I have to force quit. so I have no way of finishing theses scans which are urgent. So what to do now. I wish I had a proper disc for this application instead of these downloads.

Today I am feed up with silverfast freezing photoshop. I have uninstall reinstalled over 6 times, getting one or none, scans happening. Over and over I uninstall and reinstall tring to scan. I am so fed up with Silverfast and the lack of help I am getting on this forum. I EVEN DOWNLOADED 6.5 AGAIN THIS MORNING HOPING FOR BETTER RESULTS BUT JUST THE SAME. I have purchased Vue scan today hoping to get through an urgent job no thanks to you silverfast. It is clear you have not got your act in to gear with the compatibility with MAX OS CX 10.5.6. Thats for sure how about some support I have been a user with you for over 6-8 years I think and it is high time you gave me some proper support instead of this dam forum stuff, which is of no help whatsoever. Can you tell me what this means . :Could not complete the import command - because of a problem with the acquisition module interface?
The dialogue box came through on one of the scans that froze photoshop.

Deat Mrs. Smith,

the error message actually means that Photoshop has a problem getting the data from Photoshop,
is it possible that you have a NIK plugin installed ? This could cause this problem.
I will send you an E-Mail as it is a for more efficient way to solve this problem.
