SF8 Frame Offest

Postby SteveH » Mon Sep 05, 2011 8:35 pm

I've just upgraded to SF8 and (despite repeated attempts) can't find the control to adjust the frame offset

I assume it's still available but where is it?

Is there any update on the reintroduction of this feature? I've just checked the latest version (8.0.0r1, 2011-09-26).

I've had no success with any films I've put through my scanner and this costing me more money as I am having use a lab to scan my films. Reverting to an earlier version of OS X to install SF6.6 is not an option.

I'm not sure if this is what you are after - but the "Auto Frame Inset" setting is now available from Preferences, Auto, from the top Silverfast menu

Auto Frame Inset has nothing to do with a missing ability to manually adjust frame. In my experience, SilverFast never determines frame of medium format slide films on Nikon 9000 ED.
How could you not to include this into a major SF upgrade? How could you not to release it for months. Why didn't you warn before allowing to buy a suite that a major feature is not developed yet?
I spent more than two hundred dollars on upgrade, time and efforts on installation, and now I'm forced to uninstall version 8 and - hopefully version 6 will install afterwards?

Your highly disappointed customer.

I can understand your disappointment with this too. It's been 5 months since I upgraded and haven't had any scans detect the offset correctly. As a result I'm hang to pay the lab to scan my films.

I can't downgrade to 6.x because it isn not compatible with Lion.

I want to make information more precise, this is now available only for the NIkon 40, 50 as well as the 4000 and 5000 ED.
The offset tool for the NIkon 8000 and 9000 is in the test stages and most likely will be release in the next update.

Thanks again for your patience
