SF8 file naming

Please tell me when a proper file naming option will be available.

I am scanning negatives on on a Epson V700 so each film needs has to be split into 2 batches. There is no way to continue a sequence of file numbering as in V6.6. Every file has to manually named. This is very time consuming.
