SF 8 SE Plus SRD masking tool set

Postby bcgamble » Wed Nov 30, 2011 6:47 pm

I just upgraded to SF 8 SE Plus from version 6.6 SE Plus and was confused/disappointed to find that the tool options in SRD mode are fewer. There is a polygon only for masking and it is awkward to use. Previously (and featured in your current movie/demos) I had the option of lasso, brush or polygon. I am working with BW negatives and need to use the SRD selectively. Almost makes me sorry to have given up version 6.6, but perhaps you are working on this improvement?

Dear bcgamble,

There are no plans to implement the masking with freehand lasso.
There is the path mask to be used similarly. You can select it by holding the "New Mask" button.

Thank you for your response.

Another question, please. Where do I find a tutorial/instructions on masking procedures specifically for SE Plus? Everything I have found refers to the multiple layers capability of the Ai Studio version.

Dear bcgamble,

unfortunately there is no special tutorial for SEplus, but the only difference is that you have only one layer in SEplus.
