searching the best resolution for slides and negs

photographer need to scan big amount of negs and slides for my database, and ready to send them to magazine and newspaper. what is the best resolution for hight quality once published in magazines?
scanner Mocrotek 4000tf silverfast 6, please help,

a magazine have ca 133dpi/152. So you should to scan the Slide in 266/304 dpi with the needed Output size (scale) in SilverFast. The input resolution is calculated out of this data.
