SE DC - Feature set error?

Postby Paul Escudier » Sun Sep 01, 2002 8:58 pm

I downloaded the demo of the V.6 upgrade for Digital Camera SE. I was amazed to find the SRD feature, which surely has no place in software designed for optimising images from a digital camera, and dismayed to find that the G.A.N.E. feature was missing, I would have thought that this feature was an essential for such a programme. Is this correct, or an oversight?

Dear Paul,
this is true, there is no dust on digital images, but you can also remove line effects that may be due to defect CCDs in cameras.
On the other hand, you can open any 8bit image (of different source, film-camera) with SilverFast DC.

GANE, the grain and noise reduction tool, will be available in DC-SE versions 6.0.1.r13 for PC and MAC (and in the future versions).

GANE with advanced controls will only be available in DC.

GANE for DC-SE versions 6.0.1.r13 onwards ?

Postby Paul Escudier » Thu Oct 17, 2002 9:19 pm

I took the plunge and upgraded to Version 6 and was very disappointed to find the latest version to download is DC-SE versions 6.0.1.r7, therefor no GANE, (and also no GAIN for me in upgrading! )

Why is this?
