Save prescan?

Postby Joern » Thu Apr 22, 2010 3:39 pm

Going through my old colour negatives I would like to save the prescans for easy navigation in my archives lateron. How?

Dear Thomas,
I understand that HiRepp requires image data which are present after a full scan, not after the prescan. My point is, however: How can I make the best use of the time already spent with the prescan of the negatives, if I am not interested in a full scan now but, perhaps, some months later. It would be great having all the prescanned pictures at hand, even in icon resolution, when performing another search across the family archives. (Perhaps an idea for the next program version?)

Dear Thomas,

may I suggest another modification which would be helpful for me (while scanning many personal fotographs):

working an a series of quite similar dias or negatives I frequently omit the prescan, doing all the scans with constant settings, but certainly I control the scanned outputs immediately, through picasa (or so). Only when I notice that the quality changes I readjust the Silverscan settings. But then - there is no actual prescan available unless I make a new one (which costs extra time). Here comes the suggestion: build from every scan a new prescan, autometically in real time, so that it is available at once.

Greetings,

Jörn

Dear Silverfast people,

may I ask whether my suggestion has been implemented into an updated version? I'm still running 6.6.2r3.

Dear Jörn,
unfortunately there is no plan to change the preview procedure in the moment.
Maybe it will come in the future.

Best regards
Artur Möller
