Running more than one scanner from Silverfast

Postby dwhistance » Sat Feb 21, 2009 5:35 pm

Hello, I'm using Silverfast to drive a Howtek D4000 drum scanner (as well as a few other types of scanner). I'm considering getting a second drum scanner. If I get another D4000 would I be able to run both at the same time from one PC with a single implementation of Silverfast? If this is possible how would I go about it?

Dear David Whistance,

you can not scan with both Scanners at the same time but change between them during operation.
It would make sense to connect the second Howtek to another PC but than you would need another SilverFast license.

Dear Thomas, many thanks for your reply. The answer was much as I expected, I'll have to include the cost of a new PC/Silverfast licence into my next scanner purchase.

Dear David Whistance,

if you buy a whole new scanner and do not use the old scanner any more you could keep the SilverFast license an do a crossgrade from your old to your new Scanner.
Please check in our Online Shop or get in touch with our Sales department to get more details.
