Registration information won't work.

Postby btswireguy » Tue Sep 24, 2002 2:31 am

Hi,
I just upgraded to Ver. 6 and my registration code won't work.
Steps I've taken:
1. I copied "ctrl c" my info from the origional invoice and pasted and saved it.
I pasted that into the info dialog box & it won't work.
2. It pasted from the conformation e-mail and it won't work.
3. I typed it directly and that won't enter either.
4. I put the CD from my previous bundled ver in the drive.
5.I copied the installation files from the bundled ver to a new CD so it would be in the root directory.
Any ideas please?
Thank you.
Mike :(

When I bought SE on line, I couldn't get it to take the registration either, but when they say type in your name exactly as it appears in the confirming email, they mean it.

Out of habit, I was hitting the space bar on the key board after my last name. When I typed it in with no extra space, Silverfast accepted the registration.

Registration won't work

Postby btswireguy » Thu Sep 26, 2002 1:39 am

Hi Peter,
I even copied and pasted my name from the original on-line receipt & e-mail conformation. ( See my original post) It would eliminate this problem even if I misspelled my name on the order. (My credit card wouldn?t have worked.) I sent an e-mail the same day to tech support and have not received an answer as of yet. I am a little disgusted with paying for a product and not being able to use it.
Hi Eric,
I did contact your support team directly at "support@silverfast.de".
What is the "normal" turnaround time for your support to answer. It's a good thing I have my previous version. You have the best scanner interface on the market but if it won't install, it's useless.

Mike,

If you are in the US, you can call their Florida office for registration and installation help. I had a serial number problem with my SF Ai and HDR 6 upgrades and they took care of it right away.

Dear btswireguy,
please send an e-mail to clovis.engelhardt@silverfast.com

give your rejected serial number and the exact version number of SilverFast (given in title bar of the software).

Hi,
I wanted to express my appreciation to Kristian in technical support. A re-issue of username and password solved the problem.
Again, some of the frustration comes from knowing there is no better scanner software on the market and I didn?t want to anything else interim.
Thank you all,
Mike :D

Likewise ...

Thanks to Martin Leschke for supplying me with the new registration number. I'm guessing new purchases were linked to the wrong serial generator.

Eric,

Can you or someone PLEASE HELP? I've sent several messages to lasersoft support explaining the problem with getting SilverFast SE to accept the serial number, and no answers yet. I paid for the software and downloaded it, and I would like it to work. I see that others have gotten satisfactory answers to the same issue. Why can't I get a response?

This is really unacceptable.

Could you give me anything (like subject), so I could search for the e-mail ? Sometimes it could take 3 or 4 days to answer to an e-mail.

Dear Eric and Kristian,

Thank you for helping me out with this.

Two of the emails I sent had the following headings, (the first one is the most recent email and I sent it to: clovis.engelhardt@silverfast.com with heading: SilverFast SE version 6 won't accept Serial Number.

The next one went to the support email address with heading:
SilverFast SE version 6 problem.

I think I've sent out about five messages to date.

Sincerely yours,
