Question regarding removal of color cast

Postby Dan Collins » Mon Jan 05, 2004 4:32 am

In Taz Talley's book on Silverfast, he discusses several ways to remove color cast. I have generally been using the highlight and shadow tool to set my whites and blacks. Supposedly in the process of doing this, I'm also removing color cast, which seems to be true. My question is this: If I do this can I then ignore the automatic color cast correction slider located with the histogram tool? I'm a bit confused. A couple of times, after I've set the highlights and shadows, I go to the histogram and move the color cast correction slider. Is this correct? Or am I "color correcting" twice? Help.

Dear Dan Collins.

It is really pretty simpel. By using the Highlight-Shadow tool you set your neutral points manually.
The Color Cast Removal slider triggers the image Auto Adjust Function. It basically adjusts the degree of CCR.

Kind regards.
