Q-factor indepth explanation

Dear Tomacz,

I hope the in depth explanation was understood, of course there was a typo with the square root which in itself is a trivia, but most people do in fact not understand where the whole development came from. As our developer Eric has clarified, SilverFast does not contain the typo, but the correct formular!
I hope this little bit of enlightenment served a good purpose!

regards

Dear Mr. Zahorsky,

mistakes like that happen to me and everybody else all the time. I just couldn't resist meeting you on my own turf and I hope that other readers were not turned off by the historical background. The discovery of irrationality or"incomensurability" of square root of 2 by great ancient Greek "geometers" is nothing less than extraordinary: it marks the birth of mathematics as we know it today.

Regards,
Tomaz

Oh! thanks for ilyons for the explanation of the Q factor. I agree with you on your comment to my comment. To leave the raw file without a profile when scanning it with Silverfast A1 is still a third option. The one just has to embed a scanner profile in the HDR or in the Pshop. Still I agree with you. What you suggest in the tutorial is the safe way in getting the correct result. :D
you got me thinking clearer here am i gonna be you and your sky as i stand
