Problems with SRD
I'm using Microtek 4000tf with iBook g3 and OS 9. Prescans show up great in window and if I make a scan, it also shows up great in Photoshop. But if I turn on SRD and hit the preview button, all I get in the window is nearly unrecognizable noise. This happens consistently, making SRD unusable. Suggestions? Thank you.

Dear Dan,
the SRD function has some sliders where you can control the intensity of that function. You result may be due to wron settings. SRD is nothing that works by the click of a button, the user should set the controls until the SRD preview is satisfactory BEFORE you start the final scan.
Also, do NOT apply further changes once you're through with SRD settings. SRD is last in the workflow.

SRD problem
Dear M. Inglehardt,
I have used the sliders and put them at the minimal settings and still have same problem. I'm wondering if this is a memory issue. If I use a low lpi (say 200 or so) for output resolution, I DO get a good preview in SRD. But if I go any higher (500 ;pi or higher), that is when I get the noise. But I have 256K of memory in my iBook and I have tried using Silverfast both with PHotoshop 6 and as a standalone. So even if I have a fairly big scanning file, shouldn't I be well below 256K, especially if I'm using Silverfast as a standalone program? Thank you for your input.
