Hi, I have downloaded a trial version of Silverfast to try the colour negative processing function. The image loads, converts automatically to positive and displays for approximately one second with a relatively good balance. But then an additional process is applied automatically and the image gets dark with wrong colours. Could you please tell me what I should look for in the settings? Thanks!

Dear Alpshiker,
please uncheck the CCR checkbox in the NegaFix floating pallet this should be responsible for this behaviour.

Dear Thomas,
Thanks for your reply.
Well, this is not just a wrong cast, the image has wrong tones. The shadows are too black for instance, the greens are fluo... there is nothing one can do to make it look good. I tried loading the images (actually digital photos of colour negatives) with different profiles, to no avail. And it seems that Silverfast keeps records of the previous settings the image was opened with when I open it again. If it's a new image, it displays good colours for a couple of seconds, then it all gets dark, contrasty and oversaturated. Could this be a limitation set with the demo version of SilverFast DC Pro?

Dear Mr Luebker
Should you wish, I have some screenshots ready that I could mail you to let you see what is happening.
With best regards

To follow up with my findings, I have found the way to disable the auto curves in the expert mode of Negafix. When this is done, I obtain a rather pale but acceptable image that I can work on with the other settings. So pretty clearly to me, there seems to be a bug in the auto curves settings in the trial version of DC Pro 6.6.1 R2. The image processed with auto curves is posterized, black and oversaturate. Is there something more I should try before giving up with the program, such as trashing preferences or settings, or else ? (Leopard). Would the fact that I had another trial version of Silverfast installed on my computer some years ago be a problem? Thanks again for your help!

Dear Paul,
it really could be that the problem is caused by some corrupted preference files so please delete them according to our support assistant.

I am also not aware of a big in the auto curves that you mention. Some screen shoots could really help us to identify the cause of the problem.
