Printing with AI Studio 6

I have recently upgraded to AI studio 6 for OS X. I am still learning the powerful tools this software offers. I am thinking of upgrading to Ver 8, but first, I have a general question about outputting the scans i made with sliverfast studio Ai to a printer.

I see Lasersoft talks alot about inkjet printing and calibrating when discussing IT-8 and .icc profiles. Does this mean that Inkjets are superior to print with, or are laserjets just as useable?

I am still relatively new at this and apologize for the 'newbie' question But i would like to get the best printer that will give the best results.

Dear Jack,

the important thing is that it is possible to switch off the color management in the printer driver.
