Picture Taken Date & EXIF Tag Editing

Hi,

I've been scanning a lot of pictures lately and am thinkning of buying SilverFast since it sounds like such a great program. One of the issues I'm running into is getting a valid "picture taken" date associated with the digital files. Photoshop Album and Picasa default to the file creation date.

How does Silverfast help get the right "picture taken" date associated with the photos I am scanning? Does it also support adding other EXIF tag data to the image file when you scan?
