Im scanning some negatives in HDR RAW, and saved as DNG. I used 300ppi, around 5100x3500 pixels, file size 115mb. The prescan looks fine, but the output file is way too small. When I open it in Lightroom, it has a size smaller than a visitcard. I also tried to open the file in Photoshop, but Photoshope didnt recognize the file. I have the latest updates of all Adobes program.
Anyone who knows what the problem might be?

Re: Output picture size doesnt match
Dear Ola,
depending on size the file might contain a smaller thumbnail.
You can deactivate this feature in SilverFast by deactivating the HiRePP function in the preferences' special tab.
Also check the display resolution (Preset) being used. This might cause the image to be opened zoomed. However in this case you should be able to simply zoom into the image.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Re: Output picture size doesnt match
I have scanned a whole heap of photos as DNG and now cannot open them in photoshop. I think it may be the same issue the other poster has.
The settings are 48bit HDR 3200dpi resulting in 550mb files, all of which should not make a difference. I haven't been able to open them in a viewer or photoshop CC 2015. Photoshop says 'photoshop does not recognise this type of file'. DNG being an adobe standard I would think they would open fine. It will open in HDR Studio.
Can you tell me why these DNG files won't open in photoshop? Better yet can you tell me how I might be able to make this work?

Re: Output picture size doesnt match
Dear user,
Have you tried scanning an image without HiRePP and opening that?
Are you maybe using some kind of raw converter Plug in?
Please be aware that the scanner data is RGB data and included as such in the DNG. It is not the same as a cammera raw.
In case you have difficulties with the DNG format try saving into tiff files.
Kind regards,
Arne
