out of focus transparency scans

I just now began doing scans and my 35mm positive and negative transparencies are badly blurred. Any suggestions?

Well, sounds like they are not in the focal plane for your scanner or they were out of focus to begin with. What scanner are you using ? and how are they mounted ? Are you using an autofocus or doing it manually ? Are the trannies flat or bowed ?
