I received SilverFast bundled with my scanner (Plustek) and I'm very happy with it, EXCEPT I discovered that the 50+ year old slides I'm scanning are 1.5 X 1.125 inches, which is slightly larger that SilverFast seems to allow. It doesn't sound like much, but I discovered that 1/8 inch is enough to lose part of the photo on a slide! Is there any way around this?
Thanks,
Mary
Old slides are too large

The problem is that the largest size of the original the program allows is slightly smaller than my slide, so I'm not getting the entire photo in the frame of the preview window. I try to change the width of the original from 1.4 to 1.5 and it just pops right back down to 1.4. I tried to enlarge the preview window and get the whole slide in and it won't let me do that either. The marquee is not the problem...

Mary,
The size limitation would be imposed from your scanner and not SilverFast.
What steps are you following to obtain your images?
Here is a link to the "Online reviews and tutorials". You will find some good information here, especially the tutorials from Ian Lyons.

Hi Mary,
I don't know how you determin the crop size, but it should be no problem if you draw the crop area using your mouse. You can create virtualy any size for your scan area. I managed to scan a full flatbed (Canon 9950F) with 25 negatives to one image (this has no practical use, but if you need to scan large format negatives...)
Entering size or resolution numbers directly into the 'Frame' tab, often works a bit weird...if you change one thing something else changes back...
