I have two versions of SF, Nikon LS2000 and Linotype Saphir Ultra II. I realize that one is a film scanner and the other a flatbed and come from different companys. My question is how come there is no Sharpen filter in the Linotype version when the manufactures(Heidelberg) software has it. There is unsharp masking in both. I have found the sharpen filter is perfect for taking the softness created from the scan out. I would really like to see the Sharpen feature in your next update for the Linotype Saphir Ultra II.

Unsharp masking is available in all our plugins expect for the SE versions. The SE versions are using auto sharpen settings instead.

Are you sure, that you have Ai versions for both scanners ?

.... just one more thing...

Possiblly you mean the focus dialog in the Nikon plugin (focus icon at the left side of the preview). This dialog is used to control focusing / defocusing. The distance of the lense to the film material can be adjusted. This dialog only makes sense, if the scanner supports this feature.

The manual focus is supported by few scanners only, the Saphir Ultra II doesn?t support it, as far as I know.

Eric.

Eric:
I have two AI versions. The Nikon version as both auto sharpen and unsharp masking, The linotype version only has unsharp masking which is not what I use.
I have been using SF for the last four years and I know the difference between auto focus and auto sharpen.
