My Epson V750 scanner is my first to support Digital ICE and I've never used it before. When I scan color prints using Digital ICE (SRD is turned off) I get rectangular shaped 'smudges' in my prints.
Should Digital ICE be used only with film?

This can happen with Digital ICE. It some times helps if you scan your print at different angles. If you still see these imperfections try using the SilverFast tools.
In short Digital ICE does not always work as well as one would like.

i think digital ICE is too hyped...manual is best
Hi Gary,
i think digital ice is overrated. i find it over compensates for too many photos automatically.
That said, using the SDR feature has fantastic results. Even though it's a bit of work to circle everything, it's much easier than scanning and retouching in photoshop. and if you have the studio version of AI, using multiple layers is huge.
good luck,
