Never saw LaserSoft "PhotoShop for SilverFast Icon on desk

Postby hassiman » Tue Jul 20, 2010 5:13 am

Hi,

In all the times I have loaded updates to Silverfast AI I Never before saw the LaserSoft "PhotoShop for SilverFast" Icon on my desktop before. Why has it suddenly appeared... it used to just be the universal launcher. What has changed with 6.6R2?

Hi Hassiman,

For SilverFast tot work with photoshop CS5, the latter must be started in 32 bits mode to be able to work with the current version of SilverFast. So you use that icon to start PS CS5 in 32 bit mode.

Am I correct in thinking that if one just uses SFAI in it's stand -alone mode to scan and later work with the files in CS5 then there is no need to invoke PS in 32 bit mode?
I have always only used the tools in SFAI to adjust my files pre-scan...

It is correct, if you use SilverFast as a standalone application to digitize your images, you do not need to start photoshop CS5 in 32 bits mode.

Is there any chance of getting a 64-bit Photoshop CS5 plugin that works soon so I don't have to run Photoshop at 32-bit?

Dear wgoossens,

the next major release we work on will be able to work with PS 64bit.
