Negafix options have dissapeared, so can't scan negs??

I've had me Epson 4990 for a few months now and have been using Silverfast 6SE that came with the scanner. The other day when I opened Silverfast it asked me for my name/company/serial no, I imputted these and Silverfast opened. Then in the negafix box that has the range of film/iso choices, they were blank! displaying only options/delete/import? and the scanner preview showed only some strange colours? What on earth has happened there??

please de-install SilverFast completely and reinstall the latest version available from our website.

Same problem, now I'll try to uninstall and re-install latest version. But how can I can I be sure tu uninstall completely everything related to Silverfast befor reinstalling the new one?

after eliminating all silverfast folders both in applications and in Photoshop cs plugins, I dowloaded silverfast ai trial version, installed but... same results, I can only get a black scan and the negative profiles in negafix are still at large...
