Naming a IT8 profile in 6.5

Postby kmart » Fri Dec 07, 2007 3:22 am

I just upgraded to 6.5, and I ran my calibration, it seems you can not specify a name for the IT8 file in 6.5. I use a Kodachrome and Fuji Provia for a lot of my scans. It just seems strange that I can not name and save these. :(

Labelling ICC-Profiles with SF AI 6.5.5r3

Postby matthiasnx » Tue Jan 29, 2008 6:07 pm

Hi,

I recently upgraded from SF AI 6.5.0r4 to 6.5.5r3 with good results so far. I run a Reflecta scanner for transparents with SF.
Now I tried to add an additional ICC-Profil with an Fuji IT8 transparent. Calibration (not the automatic way because there is no barecode on the slide) works till saving the profile. At this stage of process I´m asked if I like to overwrite the existing profile or if I like to disrupt calibration.
I found no way to label the new profile. So, I installed the former version of SF again.

I guess the recent response "option ..." is appropriate for a different situation because I see no Option-button.

How I can proceed?

have a nice evening
Matthias

Renaming the ICC profiles after an IT8 calibration

Postby LSI_Morales » Fri Feb 22, 2008 5:34 pm

Dear Mr Nixdorf

It is possible for you to assign names to your calibration profiles everytime
you carry out a new IT8 calibration.

You gotta have in mind that when you make an IT8 calibration, what you are
actually doing is creating a new ICC color profile. So, Before starting the
actual calibration, you have to tell SilverFast to let you personalize the
name of the created profiles.

Please follow the next steps to activate the customization of ICC profile
names.

- Please press the "options" button located near the "scan" button on the main control window.
-In the options dialog, you will select the "Auto" tab which contains a list
of items to control some automated tasks in SilverFast
- Please mark the checkbox next to the last option named "Custom ICC profile name" (See the next picture)

You will be able to name your ICC profiles after the calibration as desired.

Thanks for your interest.

Kind regards

naming profile after IT8 calibration

Postby matthiasnx » Tue Feb 26, 2008 5:58 pm

Dear Alejandro,

looks much simplier than expected!
I was too much focused to the end of the calibration process as used from my former SF version.
Thanx for your detailled instruction
Matthias
