Dear Mr. President,
before you start working on the support for additional scanners, may I suggest, that you fix the basic problems of Multi Exposure (ME) first?
In the current version 6.5.0r3b, ME cannot be used ( with a Nikon LS5000 scanner) : For resolutions higher than 1k, ME will create useless double ore multiple images.

Dear Customer,
be assured our developers working on the fix for Nikon high res data with ME, which is an individual problem with Nikon LS5000 while other scanners do not have the same problem.
In the meantime other developers working on ME support for more scanners.

You still have a long way to go before the multi exposure function works on the Epson 4870.
The picture below is scan at 48 Bit 3200 DPI on an Epson 4870 using 4 x Multi exposure version: 6.5.0r3d.
Look At the shadow effects on the wire.

Here there are no shadow effects.

The multi exposure seems to be worse with the new version 6.5.0r4
The picture below is scan at 48 Bit 3200 DPI on an Epson 4870 using 4 x Multi exposure Version 6.5.0r4
Look at the ?doubling effects? on the ear and on the collar.

And please don?t talk about "moving targets or movement inaccuracies? because if that was the case then the problem would accrue on the 4 x scan version as well.
I hope Silverfast are able to solve the problem fast.....Silver----fast :-))

I don't think that Multi Exposure and multi Scan are working in the same manner. You can't compare this way.
I have seen similar shadow effect (doubling effects) with multi Exposure (not Multi Scan) and where target is not fixed well. When target is mounted on a glass plate there were no 'doubling effects'
I'm using Epson 750 Pro with Fluid Mount Accessory.
Can You get the exact same effect from two or more similar scan sessions?

Dear Morten,
please compress your Prefs folder into a zip Archive and send it to me,
so that I can try to reproduce your problem exactly with your settings.
Please first make sure to choose the problematic settings in SilverFast,
then quit SilverFast and zip the Prefs.
Thank you very much for your help.
Best regards
Martin

SilverFast Multi-Exposure and optical resolution
SilverFast Multi-Exposure and optical resolution
Dear Morten,
realizing that you scan with 3200 dpi I would like to alert you that you have exceeded the true optical resolution by far. Every scanner manufacturer publishes resolution values that are deluding customers leading to wrong expectations. The true optical resolution for your scanner is in reality less than 2400 dpi.
So for good quality scans I recommend not to exceed the true optical resolution of the Epson Perfection 4870.
If you want to learn more about true optical resolution, look at these links:
