Installation type for Silverfast Ai update

This is rather a stupid question, but better safe than sorry. Regarding an update of Silverfast Ai 6 for the Epson Perfection 2450 from version 6.0.1R23 to the new 10.21.03 update 6.1.0r5 ( OS is Mac OS 10.3), I am not sure whether the correct choice for installation type is 'Silverfast Application- Photoshop PlugIn Option' or 'Twain'. I scan with Silverfast via the Epson Twain module. I installed Silverfast 6 Ai as a Photoshop Plugin (rather than a stand-alone application.) Would you kindly advise which installation type is correct.

Also, will the update install over the present version? i.e., does the older version have to be removed before running the installer.

I will appreciate very much clarification.

Dear Felix,

if you are using the Launcher and Photoshop as host app. then use the Photoshop Plug-In.

Are you using any other application ?
