I have purchased a scanner, Plustek 7200i with iSRD hardware function adn SilverFast Ai application.
My intention was to process old monochrome negatives, plenty of which I stored since old times.
I quickly discovered that iSRD function does not work with the old monochrome negatives but still I could use standard software SRD.
I found out however that I cannot use SRD function without activating hardware iSRD function.
I noticed that even if iSRD is not used in the SilverFast (iSRD checkbox is unchecked) it is always being used by the scanner.
I do not suspect that the result of that infrared scans affect the final image, but it take a lot of time for the scanner to complete infrared pass and then analyze it.
Information on what is going on is displayed in progress window. What is more this function is activated twice, once when I click Preview in SRD dialog, and next when the actual scanning take place. This makes the time of scanning one picture 10 times longer that it would take when this function is off what I find very frustrating. Instead of a week I would need months to complete scanning of my collection. Please help. Is there any way to switch iSRD function off when I want to use only SRD? Or maybe it is a bug intended to be fixed in future releases.

Dear katharsis,
we are aware of this glitch and are working on a Fix.
Expect the fix to be included in the next update of SilverFast which should be out in the next 2 weeks.
