how to switch between prescans ??

Postby marcush » Wed Jan 21, 2004 9:21 pm

hi,

can anyone tell me,how I do it in Silverfast to switch between single
prescans , I`ve scanned in from negative - stripe ???
( sometimes it can be of advantage to switch between single
prescans for example, when you have a batch of similar negatives
with same background and you like to compare two or three preview scans
from color-correction,etc. )

( i use silverfast 6 with Nikon Coolscan IV )

thanks
marcus

This is only possible via overview, which means, SilverFast starts everytime again a Prescan.
If you scan this picture as HDR, and open them in the current SilverFast HDR 6, you could handle those picture on an Virtual Light Table. You could switch between those pictures, and see the change also on the VLT itself.

kind regards

Hello Mr Kratzenstein,
thanks for your speedy replies by email and posting.

Well - I managed the problem over the job-manager,
after having learnt and found-out more
about SilverFast and the included job-manager yesterday.
In deed the job-manager is a pretty powerful tool and
to my opinion is over the usual batchscan feature, because
you have the possibility to individually make your settings in
regard to the concerned prescan in the job-manager
before you are going to start your final scans.

And I realized , that I`m able to toogle or switch quickly
between the prescans over the job-manager
interface as to my needs (and without doing new prescans )
and finally to compare similar prescans over preview easily.

Marcus
