How to disable AACO

How do I completely turn off AACO? I have all the settings set to minimum values and deselected the "use AACO" checkbox, but when scanning it still indicates that it is going through an AACO pass and my scans appear to have had it applied.

Dear fbacher

please visit the AACO tool's dialogue and check off the "Use AACO", then close the AACO dialogue to deactivate it.
You will find that the AACO icon is reverted back from green to black in colour to show that AACO now is deactivated.
