How to deactivate. Uninstall?

I'm expecting a new computer to arrive any day and am dreading the task of moving everything from this one. In another post it was stated that Silverfast must be deactivated before installing on another computer. Other than an option to uninstall I do not see how to deactivate. Perhaps I am not looking in the right place... As we all know a brand new machine can occasionally be a bit twitchy and I'd rather not uninstall on the old machine until I have confidence in the stability of the new one.

Also, I am using Ai IT8 Studio, which was an upgrade from my original and now elderly Ai disc. To install on the new computer should I use the disc and the upgrade path, or skip the cdrom and download only?

Remember, the only stupid question is the one unasked. That's what I keep telling myself, anyway.

Dear Marmotking,

to deactivate SilverFast is only necesary at special Heidelberg scanners. You can deinstall the program at your old machine and install it at your new one.
