I use Silverfast to scan a silver halide negative and it displays a positive version of that image - however when I scan the negative to file (as a TIF) it stores the negative image, and I have to use PS to convert it.
How can I set up Silverfast to store the positive conversion (which is always does if I scan a color negative.
Thank-you

Dear davidx,
I am sure you are using 48Bit HDR as Scanmode, which basically a raw format for postprocessing with our SilverFast HDR.
You would need to use the 48Bit Color or the 48->24Bit mode to retain the corrections you did in SilverFast.

Re: How save a silver halide negative scan as a positive
Thank-you for your reply - but I am afraid I simply cant get a decent scan.
I had hoped I could do a scan and after adjustments save a positive image, which is 'useable' without further processing.
I am using V6.4.4, and the film is Kodak Plus-X.
Rather than elaborating all the details of settings which do not work - could I ask you for some settings which will give me
1. A positive image TIF file
2. Allow me to use the SilverFast adjustments (Curves and Levels)
3. Produce a scan which is not just Black and White, but includes a full range of greys without blocked shadows and blow highlights - which I what I can get with NikonScan set to scan the negative as a Color Transparancy with Post processing in PShop.
I can upload samples if you want to see where I am coming from
Thank-you
David

Re: How save a silver halide negative scan as a positive
Dear Thomas,
Attached are three (resized) scans. Two of the negative as a positive (to give a negative result) - with SFast and NikonScan - and one to give a positive result using NikonScan, all from a Nikon IVED scanner.
The SF scans are missing all the mid-tones.
Thank-you for your help
