Help with Microtek Artix F1 Scanner and being able to use i

Postby kanga » Tue Oct 12, 2010 4:49 am

I have SF Ai Sudio and SF HDR with a Microtek Artix F1 scanner. I would like to be able to use the iSRD feature. >l Do I need to purchase HDR Studio?
I am using the latest version fo both SF Ai Studio and SF HDR.
Your web site says the Microtek Artix F! supports -
iSRD supported (Additional you need at least SF HDR!)
HDRi supported
"NEW: The SilverFast HDRi RAW data format with infrared channel
The HDRi feature is part of any SilverFast HDR and Archive Suite edition version 6.6.1 or later. The 64-bit HDRi color files (and the 32-bit grayscale files, respectively) developed therefore contain all readable image information including the information of the infrared channel, the data from which can be used for image optimization (e.g. dust and scratch removal). Hence, HDRi RAW data is the perfect source material for any later post-processing steps. Read more about SilverFast HDRi."
I am somewhat confused.
NEW: The SilverFast 64bit HDRi Raw data format is now available for MICROTEK ArtixScan F1*
The workflow described below is information (from one of your newsletters in 2009)is very attractive to me because of the time saving.
A 64bit HDRi workflow overview:
After scanning your slides or negatives in RAW data mode save them unprocessed to your hard disk. This is a quick and easy task even with larger collections. These RAW data files contain the entire image data including the infrared channel's data and therewith any information the scanner is able to read. You can post process the images to your needs at any time later and this for multiple times, because the RAW data archive remains unaffected in the process. This workflow including a color management system is featured by our SilverFast Archive Suite software packages."
Do I need to purchase the Archive Suite to be able to do this procedure?

Dear George,

you can use the iSRD feature with Ai Studio and HDR like described in the HDR-Workflow.

Thank you for your reply Artur. I have veiwed the Movies and read the documentation. With my version of SF Ai Studio I can't do a 64bit HRDi Color or a 32 bit HDRi Greyscale because they are Greyed out.
The is no iSRD button situated just above the SRD butter. The button is the IT8 Calibration tool.
I suspect that the Microtek Artix F1 scanner at the point in time can not support iSRD.
In a previous post -

Dear Mr Dougherty,
you will need the HDR to read the HDRi files which will be produced throug the one of the latest SE/Ai you are probaly already running.
So yes you will need an HDR to read those files.

I purchased SF HDR and the options are 24bit colour and 8bit Greyscale.
I am still not the wiser.

Dear George,

HDRi is available with this scanner with the firmware 4.19. Please contact Microtek for an update.
