HDR not available after upgrading?

Postby jlandecker » Thu Feb 18, 2010 12:26 pm

It seems that somewhere in the upgrading process (I'm now running 6.6.1r5), all the HDR options under "scan type" which used to be available are now greyed out, both in my Ai Studio for Epson and Ai for Nikon versions... did something change with the upgrades or is there a setting I'm missing to enable HDR?

Dear customer,

please make sure you are in normal transparency mode.
HDRi is greyed out in trancparency (full area) and reflective mode due to technical limitations.

kind regards
Arne Ketelhohn.

Hello Arne,

Thank-you for your reply. I think I've found the source of the issue. I should have mentioned that I'm working with the Photoshop plug-in. The HDR options are only available if I choose either Normal (File) or Batch (File). On the Epson, HDR is then available with either the full area or normal transparency settings, and HDRi is only available with the normal Transparency setting, as you pointed out. This seems to be a change from previous versions where HDR was available if scanning either directly to Photoshop or to a file.

Thanks,

Jim

Dear Jim,

yes you are right we changed that.
Sorry I forgot to mention that.
HDR(i) is not really meant for Photoshop and important values are destroyed/not stored if such an image is saved from within Photoshop.
The scanned imaged no longer is a true HDR(i) file and could not be processed by SilverFast HDR.

kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn
