Silverfast Team,

Any word on your completion of the SF grain reduction tool? Experimenting with the Photoshop plug-in "Grain Surgery" looks pretty good, but I'm sure the SF team can do even better.

Thanks in advance,
Clay

Clay,

I anxiously await the Grain Reduction feature as well, but here's something I found yesterday from Polariod to hold you over, and it's free:

<b>Polariod Dust & Scratch Removal Utility</b>

Hi,
you have to make a difference between "Grain & Noise" on one side and "Dust & Scratches" on the other side.

In the Version 6 of SilverFast, we offer a Dust & Scratch removal with the SRD function ( SRD = Smart Recovery of Defects ).
And Version 6 too offers Grain & Noise Elimination with the GANE function.

So may download a demo and give those functions a try on those images which trouble you.

Nils

P.S. Please note that GANE can seem to be a bit slow, but maybe already today we have an update where it operates 4x faster ...
