Frame alignment crosshair becomes a flashing red border!

Postby JustRight » Fri May 18, 2007 10:15 am

OK guys,

I have just installed Ai Studio ME version 6.5.0r6 for my Nikon LS9000. I was really pleased to see that the giant crosshair was gone from the middle of the preview.

I actually much prefer the frame border with the new handles for twisting the frame. A much better idea!

BUT, does it have to BLINK in Red!!

Is there some way I can disable the blinking? Now that I know the function is available I do not need to have it flashing at me the whole time.

Also, is there any documentation available on this feature. For example, is there a keystroke sequence that will re-centre the frame if you have twisted it? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Trevor

Post Script:

OK, just read the version history for 6.5.0r6, and I quote from the Improvements section:

Scan frame: Look of scan frame changed. Instead of cross-hairs for rotating half-arcs can be used now. Also active frame is blinking in order to be noticed easier.

I'm sure that having the active frame blink for a flatbed might be quite useful, but for those of us with film scanners that preview one image at a time, having the only visible frame blinking in red seems a bit pointless, and annoying.

Oh, well. It's a lot better than the giant crosshair!

Cheers.

Dear Trevor

I sympathize with you - both, crosshairs and red blinking frame don't fit my idea of user interface guidelines. I proceeded your request to product management :)

Hi Sonny,

Thanks for your response. Let's hope the developers can do something.

Good to hear from you again.
Best Regards,
Trevor
