Error Message when opening: SF Laucher has stopped working

I've been scanning 35mm slides for a few weeks, tonight, I get a Microsoft Windows error message indicating:

SF Launcher has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. Close Program box.

About a month ago I had the company's tech get the program added to my new computer and it's been working fine. Since I had such a problem getting it on my PC, I don't want to remove and reinstall the program (the tech did a Webx and did it himself as the file that was needed was hidden and I couldn't find it - problem at that time was that it couldn't find my scanner.)

Any ideas?

Dear Susan,

I think the problem is that SilverFast 6.4 is not compatible with Vista, you would need to upgrade to the latest version in order to have full vista support.
Please try the latest demo version from our website.
