I have an Epson V750 Pro with Fluid Mount Kit and I want to be able to scan Fuji Velvia 50 transparencies 6 x 7 and 6 x 17 and probably at some later stage 4 x 5. I also want to be able to scan 35mm negatives and bog standard photographs.
The scanner came with SilverFast Ai software. I have done some test scans and have determined that the wet scanning definitely produces better results. What do I need to do in order to get best results as I am about to start a whole bunch of scanning and only want to do it once so I need to get the technical side and understanding right. Basically what I need is a plain old shopping list/procedure that will allow me to achieve best results for all the above formats.
Comparing my initial scans with the original transparencies they don't seem to be miles out so what is all this iT8 and calibration mumbo jumbo, is it absolutely necessary and will one size fit all. Any clarification/pointers would be most appreciated in simple doses as I was too thick to become a rocket scientist and my poor insignificant brain is beginning to hurt. All I ever wanted to do was take beautiful photo's
Cheers,
Roger.
