Greetings,
I have a customer who is using an Epson Expression 800 (SCSI) with MAC OS X (Tiger) and SilverFast version 5.2. Epson does not provide a driver for this as of yet. He can boot to OS 9.2 and everything works as designed. If he runs in classic the OS cannot see the scanner, nor can SilverFast. While looking at your site, I see that SilverFast 6 will support this. My question is this: Does SilverFast provide an alternative driver that will allow us to scan with the Epson Expression 800, SilverFast 6 on OS X without a driver from Epson?
Any information you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Dear inb3
you can access SCSI hardware without drivers, given that the SCSI communications layer does work okay.
This, however, unfortunately isn't trivial on OSX 10.3 and higher. More information on this issue can be found in our FAQ:

I have an Adaptec SCSI controller installed.</a>
