DPI FOR BEST PHOTOGRAPHS
Is 300 the best dpi for photos or, say 7200?

Re: DPI FOR BEST PHOTOGRAPHS
Dear jbarach,
I would set the resoloution to 300 DPI and then change the Output Value to whatever you want the picture to be viewed or printed later on.
best regards,
Thomas Lübker,

Re: DPI FOR BEST PHOTOGRAPHS
This is an interesting topic. I don't believe 300 DPI/PPI is a hard and fast rule. In the time I have been dealing with images the best advice I have received on this subject is to let your intended usage be your guide. More specifically, scan for the largest intended usage.

Re: DPI FOR BEST PHOTOGRAPHS
here is the ONE & ONLY rule:
sampling factor (the Q one) is ::: 1
dpi settings: scanning resolution (depends on your machine and goes up to 8000 sometimes;-))
original 100 % (this means native resolution)
hope this helps
cheers
