Download Confusion

Postby Thade » Tue Sep 17, 2002 7:33 pm

LS.

I am trying to upgrade from version 5.5 to 6. This went OK for Silverfast ai. It is unclear from the instructions whether this includes an upgrade for Silverfast HDR to V6. Do I have to pay separately to upgrade HDR from 5.5 to version 6?

Correct, every SilverFast module has to be upgraded individually.

HDR vs AI upgrade

Thanks, very clear,

Leaves me with the next question:

Are there any problems in working with SFai version 6, and HDR version 5.5?

I understand that I do not get the Scan Manager which is part of the HDR6 package, but if I am not mistaken, it is already part of ai6.

No, there are no problems using Ai6 and HDR5.x.

With the Scan Manager you surely mean the "Job Manager". The JM is part of v6 and an extension to v5.x . Ai and HDR are using different implementations of the Job Manager, even if the interface is the same. Of course you can use the JM in your scanner plugin, if this satisfies your needs. The JM of HDR on the other hand, can handle hundreds of images in one batch.

Eric.
