Does Silverfast 6 work with dual processor machines?

Postby Tristan » Tue Aug 27, 2002 8:17 pm

Hi:
I was wondering if the new version has any known issues with dual processor machines? Does it take advantage of two processors, if they exist? I recall reading somewhere in the forums of a known problem with version 5.5, Nikon LS4000ED, and Windows 2000. It would be helpful to know if this is stoll present with the newer version. Thanks in advance.

Tristan.

The problem with Nikon on dual CPU systems and Win2K / WinXP is solved. We simply prevent the use the the second CPU, which leads in a loss of performance of around 10-15%.

For other modules we do not prevent the use of the second CPU, but on the other hand we do not use it ourselves. We were talking about using multiple CPUs many times to increase the performance on these machines, but never had the time to implement appropriate functionality. I hope we can do that in the future.

Eric.
