I have Silverfast SE v6.2.1r9. I've only just noticed that when I setup to descreen, the settings for the output size change to a smaller percentage. This is the menu with all the prescreen, scan type, filter, etc., settings. I was trying to descreen some images from magazines and newspapers and I try to type in the same output percentage in inches as well as trying to keep it at 100%, but the numbers jump back to smaller sizes. This only happens when descreening is chosen in the pulldown menu. What am I doing wrong?

Descreening settings

Dear Jeff
thank you for your interest in LaserSoft Imaging's software products.
When using descreening, please note that you need to scan with a resolution similar (x1,0 / x2,0 / etc. ) to the original screening value. It does decrease the quality the descreening algorithm can achieve if you use an input resolution the is somewhat different from the actual screening / grid printed on paper, because the scanner needs to interpolate and thus can't work as accurate when descreening as it could.
For more information on this topic, please visit our website -> "Support" -> "Scanning Concepts" (or use this direct URL: http://www.silverfast.com/show/scanningconcept/en.html ).
Also, SilverFast does show the output DPI value in the DPI box on the frame tab of the main dialogue, unless you would press the CTRL key.
Then you shall see what input (= hardware resolution of the scanner) will be used for your scan.
